More than 40 decorated Christmas trees will be on display this weekend during the Winter Festival: Celebration of Trees at 123 N. Chestnut St (formerly Ace Hardware and home of the future Public House) in Jefferson.
The trees are decorated by area businesses and organizations. Many will be up for silent auction with proceeds going to New Opportunities’ Opration Christmas Child project.
The Winter Festival also includes children’s activities, horse drawn carriage rides, a bake sale, musical entertainment, and of course, time to visit with Santa Claus.
Winter Festival will be open Saturday from 1 to 7 pm and Sunday from 12 to 4 pm.
Daily schedules are:
Saturday, Dec. 7
1-7 pm: Tour of Trees; silent auction bidding; vote for favorite tree; children’s craft, create gift wrap or gift bag; children’s tree decorating activity; and children’s I Spy activity
1-5 pm: National Honor Society bake sale
1:45-2:15 and 3-3:30: Children’s Story Time provided by Friends of the Library
5-7 pm – Horse-drawn carriage rides. Please sign up with the volunteer and get a ticket number.
Sunday, Dec. 8
12-4 pm: Tour of Trees; silent auction bidding; vote for favorite tree; children’s craft, create gift wrap or gift bag; children’s tree decorating activity; and children’s I Spy activity
